After several years of good magicjack service which included it working on both my pc and laptop, the device developed crackling sounds, poor audio, and would drop calls. My chat session with magicjack to resolve the issues was reaching close to 5 hours and had 5 techs involved when my patience gave out. The first tech gave up and said that one of the top 10% techs as rated by customers would help me. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th techs all said the same thing. MagicJack Phone Consumer Complaint
I wanted a telephone number for a business and made a mistake to pick up a MagicJack. All is good until the support or billing or customer service is needed.
Because they do not have any intelligent support behind that company and that they do not care at all about the client (you). First of all, they do not have a number that you can call. Only a "Chat" room with you know whom... One hour later they are starting to understand the problem after transfering me to a Top 10% (I guess it is a chat supervisor ) but will not be able to fix my problem even 2 hours later.

MagicJack Phone Consumer Complaint
Used MJ for over year. Just renewed for 5 years. This weekend phone did not ring when called. Tested several types house phones (Wireless, Princess) by connecting them and call using cellphone. None of the phones 'rang' when call though they did connect when picked up.
After 6 hours on their well-known chat facility. Testing, retesting, removing from device mgr, reinstalling, switching connections and phones etc etc. Their 'top 10%' technical supervisor punched a key that sent me a 'canned' reply that I needed to buy a more powerfull USB hub. On their...

Unsolved issue after 1 month

I was very happy with my magicjack until about 1 month, when it stopped showing the caller's ID on the calls I forward to my cell phone. I contacted customer service and I chatted with them for over 2 hrs, they had no idea of what is going on. They made me unplog, plog back, move the settings on my computer, make calls, receive calls, upgrade my service, call my cell phone co carrier...etc, and NOTHING was working. I originally hooked up a Majic Jack phone line in July of 2008 with a 2 year service purchase. Since I rarely used it, I didn't notice when the service ran out. After my "renewal" of service, which was supposed to be $19.95, I checked my account balance through my bank online. To my surprise, there was 5 (FIVE!) separate charges from Majic Jack, none of which were remotely close to $20; all of which totaled an astonishing $309.70!
